Taylor Swift Earns Acclaim from Laura Dern as a Genuine Filmmaker: Dern Expresses Willingness to Collaborate

Traveling to stadiums worldwide and contributing to the U.S. economy wasn’t enough for Taylor Swift – she’s now also making a name for herself as a filmmaker. And Laura Dern is excited to collaborate with the pop superstar on any project she decides to take on. “Listen, wherever [Taylor] wants to go, I’ll show up. I love her,” Dern told TheWrap.

They have collaborated before when Swift released her self-directed music video “Bejeweled” featuring Dern alongside the Haim sisters. In the latest episode of the “UnWrapped” podcast, the Oscar-winning “marriage Stоry” actress reminisced about how much she enjoyed being part of that, heaping praise on Swift’s talents. “She is a real deal – on top of everything else amazing that she does and is – a real deal filmmaker, which I got to experience firsthand,” Dern said. “I’m excited to watch that part of her journey wherever she continues to take it.”

Swift is currently committed to writing and directing her first feature film for Searchlight Pictures. Despite her busy schedule with the Evermore Tour, the exact timeline for when her movie might come together remains uncertain. It is also unclear if there is a role for Dern, but it is nice to know that the “Big Little Lies” actress would be eager to be a part of it.

Even though Taylor Swift is not the only star on her new Apple TV+ series “Palm Royale,” she and her producing partner Jaime Lemons are excited to collaborate on the project. Lemons affectionately refers to their work with Swift as “Jaywalker: Taylor’s Version.” Jaywalker Pictures is, naturally, the production company that Dern and Lemons created and run together.
